Please note: ● Students will required to complete a Virtual Education Contract and/or Youth Options/Course Options Contract that states students shall be responsible for all costs related to the course if the student receives a failing grade. For more information about the Early College Credit Program or the Start College Now program, see Mrs. Howard. Post Secondary Education Contract

Youth Options: You may have been aware of the Youth Options program in the past. This program will no longer be offered after the 2017-2018 school year.

Instead, there are two college in high school programs offered: the Early College Credit Program through the UW System colleges, and the Start College Now program through WITC.

A few things you should be aware of: --College courses can be taken on the college campus or through ITV at the school. --ITV college courses that will be offered during the 2018-2019 school year are: English 101, English 102, Intro to Psychology, Student Success, Criminal Justice, Marketing Principles, Intro to Environmental Studies, Astronomy, and Intro to Sociology. --The Early College Credit Program allows students in grades 9-12 to take college courses. --The Start College Now program will continue to only allow students in grades 11-12 to take college courses. --Students may take up to 18 college credits, paid for by the school district. Families are responsible for the cost of any credits after 18 college credits have been earned. --Families are responsible for the cost of the course, if a student does not pass the class. --All students must take the Accuplacer test (set for March 12th and 16th), and meet the college standard of placement in order to officially enroll in the college courses.

Please keep in mind that, while taking college courses in high school can be beneficial for students, taking college courses while in high school is not suited for every student. In fact, some colleges will have specific requirements for entrance, such as class rank top 25%, class rank top 50% with ACT score of 24 or higher, or a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
