Now Hiring: BRIDGE Program Director

Birchwood Resources for Inclusive Development, Growth, and Engagement (BRIDGE)
Birchwood School District
Starting 2026–2027 School Year

Birchwood School District is seeking a dynamic, community-minded leader to serve as the BRIDGE Program Director. This 12 month position will lead an exciting new initiative designed to strengthen connections between our schools and the greater Birchwood community.

BRIDGE (Birchwood Resources for Inclusive Development, Growth, and Engagement) transforms Birchwood Schools into the vibrant heart of community life—offering year-round enrichment, recreation, and community education opportunities for all ages.

This position is fully funded through Fund 80 (Community Service Fund) and operates independently from the district’s academic programming.

 

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership

  • Develop and coordinate year-round enrichment and recreation programming
  • Plan and oversee seasonal community events
  • Ensure programs are inclusive, affordable, and accessible
  • Establish safety procedures, registration processes, and supervision guidelines
  • Gather feedback and evaluate program effectiveness

Community Collaboration

  • Build strong partnerships with:
    • Village of Birchwood
    • Chamber of Commerce
    • Local businesses and community organizations
    • Families, volunteers, and student leaders
  • Facilitate a BRIDGE Advisory Committee
  • Encourage student leadership and volunteer engagement

Financial Stewardship

  • Maintain transparent financial practices
  • Develop sponsorships and cost-sharing partnerships

Marketing & Communication

  • Oversee two seasonal publications (Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer)
  • Create monthly digital newsletters
  • Coordinate “Bridge to Businesses” outreach
  • Promote programs through social media and community storytelling
 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in recreation management or related field
  • Experience in program coordination, event planning, or community engagement
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Experience managing budgets
  • Experience supervising staff or volunteers
 

Position Details

  • Full-time position
  • Flexible schedule including evenings and occasional weekends
  • Reports to the District Administrator or designee
  • Fully funded through Fund 80 (Community Service Fund)

Business and Career Education, 5-12th grade
Birchwood School District is seeking a dynamic, innovative, student-focused Business and Career Education Teacher to join our outstanding instructional team. This position will teach business education classes for students in grades 5-12th grade. Birchwood Schools also has a thriving school store providing an on-site Business Education learning lab and an active FBLA chapter with a history of excellence in representing our school at the State and National level. The ideal candidate will bring strong content knowledge, a passion for teaching students, and the ability to create a future-focused, positive class culture that promotes curiosity, problem-solving, and growth. This is a full-time position. Birchwood is a member of the Cesa 4 LIFToFFS Consortium providing additional support in using the latest pedagogical strategies and AI assisted teaching technologies. The successful candidate will demonstrate deep curriculum knowledge, a commitment to building relationships with students and fellow staff, and the ability to design engaging, standards-based instruction.
